The food sector has an enormous potential for export development.

The key role food industry plays in the country’s economics makes it a priority sector for UniCredit Bulbank whose goal is to support the business plans of its clients from the small and medium-sized business segment. We believe the sector is developing very well with low levels of intercompany indebtedness and good indicators. This is how the Business Clients Senior RM of UniCredit Bulbank Dimitar Petkov described the bank’s policy regarding the food sector. It is mainly because of the sector’s pivotal role for the bank that UniCredit Bulbank decided to become an exclusive partner of FINANCE CORNER - the first exhibition in this field organized by the Bulgarian Financial Guide “My Money” and Bulgarreklama Agency in the context of the international specialized food exhibitions and the National Association of Hotel, Restaurant, Cafeteria "HoReCa”, including Meatmania, Milk World, BULPEK, Salon de Vin, Interfood & Drink and SIHRE (Specialized exhibitions of hotel, restaurant, catering and spa facilities). The exhibition opened on the 6th November at Inter Expo Center – Sofia.

Penkov believes that the sector’s development potential has to do with the development of export and the design of new products which can replace the imported ones. “There have been many investments in the sector during the past years in order to meet EU requirements”, says Penkov.

At UniCredit Bulbank, each company belonging to the small and medium-sized business segment has been assigned a personal banking advisor who gives advice on their investment plans and decisions. All forum participants, more than 300 Bulgarian and foreign companies, will also be given the opportunity to discuss the possibility for funding within the framework of the forum at Inter Expo Center – Sofia at UniCredit Bulbank’s corner.

UniCredit Bulbank’s corner and the bank’s branches will provide small and medium-sized companies with information not only about banking products but also about the products offered by UniCredit Leasing and UniCredit Factoring.

Dimitar Penkov, the Head of Branch Network Department – South Bulgaria of UniCredit Leasing Petko Pashkulev and the Manager of the Business Communications Department of UniCredit Factoring Stoyan Stankov will participate in the panel of experts “Finance Corner – Food Companies Funding”. The panel will take place on 7th November, 11:00 - 12:45 at the Inter Expo Center, conference corner, Hall 2.
