Prize awarded by APA and UniCredit Bank Austria celebrates its 10th anniversary
For the 10th year APA – Austria Press Agency and UniCredit Bank Austria are inviting submissions for the renowned journalism prize “Writing for CEE”. The prize, which is endowed with EUR 5,000, seeks to promote journalistic debate about European issues and European integration. “Writing for CEE” is not an EU prize, but according to Ambros Kindel, the chairman of the jury, "a European prize with a particular focus on Central and Eastern Europe".
Journalists from all over Europe and all editorial departments are invited to submit their entries to the competition by the closing date on 31 July. Contributions should explore life in European countries, European art, culture or lifestyle in a varied and differentiated manner and contribute to overcoming borders and prejudice. Entries must have been published between 1 August 2012 and 31 July 2013 in print, on radio, television or online.
The winner will be announced and the prize awarded at a ceremony in Vienna in November 2013.
Entries must be submitted in the original language together with an English translation and the curriculum vitae of the author. Further information and the entry form are available at: www.apa.at/cee-award.
